We hear from leadership teams that it’s a consistent challenge to support their teams through stress and it’s consequences. This is particularly true for teams borne of the high-performance startup culture that has driven much success for the software giants of today.

The skills and strategies required to support teams through the stress from high pressure work and immense work-loads does not come naturally to most. These skills are learned. If your leaders have not learned these skills through experience or formal training, they aren’t going to magically develop themselves. We need to equip leaders with a framework to do two essential things:

  1. Recognize when a member of their team is struggling
  2. Know what to do to support someone who is struggling

Recognizing the signs of stress or burnout is not as straight forward as it sounds. It requires a good degree of emotional intelligence and social awareness. Social skill is then tested when it’s time to connect to discuss and resolve issues.

The skills of resilience and self-management we develop individually cannot just be transplanted successfully into others who struggle… unfortunately. Leaders need to be well equipped to guide their staff through unique journeys toward balance by asking the right questions and shaping a practical strategy together with them.

We bring together the foundational principles of leadership development with the foundations of resilience from mental health experts to put together powerful trainings. Our sessions have another element that make them completely unique to any other similar trainings; the third component of our curricula is the neurophysiology of stress – the way our body chemistry and environment impact how we navigate stress.
